SportK-1 GymnasticsEvery student in Kindergarten and Year 1 participates in a 40 minute gymnastic lesson each week in Terms 1 and 4. Professional gymnastics teachers run the lessons. The lessons take place in the undercover area and there is sufficient equipment to provide a wide range of activities and skill development. K-1 FitnessClasses join together each week to participate in aerobic and other fitness activities in groups. The students work with teachers to develop their gross motor skills and fitness. |

K-1 Physical EducationStudents are involved in a 40 minute Physical Education lesson each week. These lessons are concerned with developing each student’s competence and confidence in a broad range of games, sports and the skills required to participate in them. Primary Schools Sport Association (PSSA)The PSSA organises school sport at the zone, area and national levels. Greenwich Public School participates in PSSA district carnivals and competitions. A strong focus of our school is that students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to represent the school in PSSA inter-school competition. Greenwich Public School is part of the North Shore Zone within the Sydney North Sports Area. Athletics CarnivalAll students in the school are encouraged to participate in the Athletics Carnival. Novelty events are organized for all students. It is the responsibility of individual students to enter events and support the student’s house which is an important aspect of the carnival. These distances are modified for K-1 students. Cross CountryAn annual cross country carnival is held for children in Years 3 to 6 and children turning 8 in Year 2 who are confident long distance runners. SwimmingAn annual swimming carnival is held for students in Years 3 to 6 and students turning 8 in Year 2 who are competent swimmers.
